A copper alloy Sterling bust jetton issued under Edward II - Edward III dating to the period AD 1321 - 1343. Long straight cross reverse with slightly expanded ends and pellet clusters in each angle. Mint of London.
The basic design of the jetton is based on the sterling pennies introduced by Edward I in 1279 though bear decorative borders rather than the legends typically seen on coins of the period.
Obverse: Crowned bust facing within border of pellets.
Reverse:Long straight cross reverse with slightly expanded ends and pellet clusters in each angle.
Similar to Mitchiner, p.102, no.135.
