Incomplete Roman button-and-loop fastener of Wild's Class II with openwork oval plate (30mm x 28mm) with transverse rib at pointed outside edge (5mm thick) and on opposed inside edge. There is a slightly oblique shank on reverse of inside edge connecting the integral attachment loop, broken at the start of the bifurcation. It is likely that this toggle would have been used for fastening bags, clothes or straps. c. AD 43-c.150.
