A body sherd of a hand made pottery vessel of probable Early or Middle Iron Age date. The sherd is formed from a hard and gritty fabric with frequent small to medium sized flint inclusions and abundant small rounded quartz grains. The external surface of the fabric is a buff-orange and the internal colour is a buff-brown. The core is light buff to grey. The outer wall is decorated with 3 banded combing arranged in a X shape below a panel of horizontal 3-banded combing. The combination of fabric type and decorative style suggests a date of c. 800-300 BC.
