Post-medieval copper alloy book clasp eye plate, rectangular with twin projections that are curled around the corroded remains of an iron bar and triangular attachment end. Perforation in both ends of plate, both with corroded iron rivet. Plate very worn and corroded, no decoration survives. Length 29mm. Width 14mm. 0.5mm thick. For more elaborate examples of this type of clasp see Margeson 1993, 74-5, pl. XIII. Later 16th - 17th century.
