A complete copper alloy stud fastener of post-medieval date. The head of the stud is a hollow dome decorated on the upper surface with a central circular indentation within two circumferential grooves and a grooved border. From the centre of the reverse of the head an integral circular sectioned shank extends which terminates in a flat plate which would have secured the stud in place.
The metal has a mid green patina and is worn. The object is 17.7mm in diameter, 9.7mm long with shank and weighs 2.9g.
