An early post medieval copper alloy eye section from a hooked tag dating to the period c AD 1540-1700. The tag is roughly leaf shaped with the bottom of the leaf truncated by a raised collar which forms one long side of the rectangular eye. There are three debased trefoil attachment knops, one either side and one at the point of the leaf (this one has the remnants of casting sprue along one edge). The tag has been tinned and has incised decoration comprising a spray of three flowers bordered by ring-and-dot motifs. Cf Read B, 2008, Hooked-Clasps & Eyes, Portcullis Publishing, Huish Episcopi p171 no 641.
