A medieval (1200-1400) copper alloy annular brooch frame, incomplete in so far as it ismissing the pin. The frame is triangular in cross-section, being flat to the underside and although circular in shape it is somewhat crudely made. There is a constriction for the pin cut to the inside of the frame 7.9mm in length. Tooling marks are visible to the reverse.
The metal is a bluey green in colour with a silvery sheen, althoughnot apparently silvered. The brooch measures 38.95mm in diameter (internal 26.96mm excluding pin constriction, 29.88mm including the constriction), is 2.25mm thick and weighs 7.28g.
