The rectangular head plate is very small with a crude integral top knob (with a transverse groove forming the waist), from the reverse of which springs part of the single perforated lug containing the corroded remains of the iron pin. The face of the headplate is decorated with a notch on both sides between transverse lines. Rectangular panels forming facets at both ends of the D-sectioned bow are both decorated with opposed notches. A rectangular panel and the remains of transverse lines and notches are present on the damaged and incomplete foot, terminal missing. Incomplete catch-plate on reverse. Ancient breaks. Extant length 41mm. Width of headplate 11mm, of bow 6mm. Weight 5.85g. c.450 - c.500 AD.
