An early Roman copper alloy terret ring of the strap-mounted type. the object is formed of an uneven, ovoid ring of'D' shaped section from one side of which projects a rectangular loop of rectangular section.
It is 52.3mm, 41.4mm wide, 7.8mm thick and weighs 37.30 grams.
A number of terret rings of similar design may be found on the database, for example at reference DUR-FF3BE7, SWYOR-D07F75, NMS-41D155 and LIN-E011C3 which cites a similar example, found as part of a small hoard of 5 terrets, in Macgregors 'Early Celtic Art in North Britain' Vol. 2, No.59.
