A Post Medieval copper alloy SpanishMaravedis, dating to the early 17th century. The coin has been covered with countermarks so that the original denomination is difficult to determine. One side appears to have the letters RX with a crown above and the other side has a possible anchor and the letter S stamped onto it. Part of the inscription is still visible and appears to read [---]LIP, suggesting this is a coin of Philip IV of Spain/III of Portugal. The coin is so worn it is now almost square shaped.
