Roman copper alloy disc brooch, 29mm in diameter and 4mm thick with a weight of 8.66 grams. The upper surface consists of three concentric raised circles 1mm wide which would have held enamel. The first is 3mm in from the edge with the second a further 4mm in. The last is almost a dot in the centre and is 3mm in diameter. The brooch is in poor condition, having lost its pin, most of its catchplate and some of its edge. It has a green patina and is encrusted with dirt. It resembles 1053 (fig 205) in Hattatts ancient Brooches.
