Medieval copper alloy bar-mount. The mount consists of one large circular lobe with two smaller knops on either side. The larger central lobe is domed (and is hollow on the back) and is decorated with transverse incised lines. Each side knop has a small seperate rivet passing through it for attachment. The mount weighs 1.62g and measures 19mm in length and 9mm in width. Brian Read's 'Metal artefacts of Antiquity' contains several similar examples, Fig.23, Nos. 149-156.
