MOUNT

Unique ID: KENT-A99F68

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Published Find published

High tin copper alloy zoomorphic fitting or mount. The object features a fantastic creature, with a lion's(?) forequarters and dolphin's(?) tail, lying right across a curved base. Stylistically the creature has parallels in Roman art, but it is more likely to be neo-classical in date.
