Medieval copper alloy knife pommel, 15mm high and wide and 9mm thick. The pommel is in fair condition with a reddish/green patina. It is roughly square and is in the form of an animal head, probably a dog. It has a downward slanting head, prominent brow and an upward turning snout. There are no signs of any eyes but it has a grinning mouth picked out with two raised lines. The rest of the object is decorated with diagonally striped incised lines and its lower edge is picked out with a raised border. There are traces of a blade incased in the lower edge.
