Fragment of a Roman iron hipposandal, or horseshoe. The fragment represents the back part of the horseshoe. It consists of a corroded iron plate which has a convex back edge and is irregular on the other sides due to having been broken off. The surface of the plate is convex. Attached to the back is an upward pointing rear hook. The object measures 77.9mm long by 79.8mm wide and 29.6mm high at the back. The weight is 97.40g. The object was heavily corroded and was conserved at Verulamium Museum.
