A silver Medieval penny of Edward I (1272 - 1307) dating from about AD 1300, Class 9b1. It was minted at Newcastle and the obverse is double struck, the last three letters of the legend not being aligned with the rest. North number 1037/1. The coin is 17.9mm diameter, 0.9mm thick, 1.24g.
