The mount is of figurative type, in the form of an acorn and is complete (with a length of 19.8mm and a weight of 1.4g). The mount has two integral oval-sectioned attachment rivets, which remain in place and folded (with a depth of 4.5mm). The rear of the mount is otherwise flat. The face of the mount is worn and corroded with a knop at both ends and is convex across its width. The mount is of oval, widest around the mid-section (with a width of 8.0mm). The basal half is decorated with cross-hatching, before a transverse rib defined by flanking grooves. The top of the mount has no applied decoration. The surface has a pale-brown to green patina, preserved on the rear but elsewhere the surface has corroded dark-brown.
