A fragment of a cast copper alloy artefact, probably part of a bracelet of Iron Age date, 800 BC - AD 43. It consists of two hollow hemispheres connected by a short, solid neck of D shaped section. At the outer end of each hemisphere is a small stub of metal, both of which are broken and abraded, probably connections to adjacent hemispheres now broken away and missing. The connecting neck is smooth with the original surface surviving, but the upper side of both hemispheres is rough and pitted and it is not possible to determine whether any decoration was present. The fragment has a dark brown patina. It is 37.4mm long, 14.82mm wide and 13.2mm thick. It weighs 15.23gm.

A small number of similar fragments can be found on the database. See for example references LEIC-26BBA1 and SUSS-06C944 which cites Fox (Fox, C. 1958 Pattern and Purpose: A Survey of Early Celtic Art in Britain National Museum of Wales, Cardiff) as illustrating similarly decorated bracelets, for example Plates 2 and 31 which are dated to the Iron Age period. The record goes on to note that: "other similar examples have however been excavated in Roman period graves at Colchester.".
