Post Medieval cast copper alloy double-looped buckle, of which one loop remains. The loop is oval with the outer side of the loop wideneing slightly at the centre. There is a recesed area forming a pin rest across the central point on the loop. The loop has an angled back and an angled, rounded outer edge. The strap bar is mostly covered with iron corrosion, possibly the remains of the pin, the end visiable is plain. The frame is 17.0 mm long, 17.1mm wide and 3.0 mm thick. It weighs 1.67 grams.
A similar example is illustrated in Margeson (1993:30, no.164) from a 17th century context , although with an incised line for a pin rest in the centre of each loop, it is likely similar simple forms were in use by c.1350 (Egan and Pritchard 1991:22, 82-3, cf no.332).
