The buckle frame is oval with ornate outside edge and is missing the pin (with a length of 15.7mm and a weight of 1.7g). The outside edge is expanded and of sub-rectangular section (4.8mm long, 4.5mm wide and 3.9mm thick) and decorated on the front and rear with fine ribs and grooves. A pair of ribs near the centre and likely to have acted as a notch for the pin. The sides are convex (giving the buckle a width of 16.7mm) and of rectangular section (0.7mm thick and 2.7mm wide). The square-sectioned bar (1.6mm square) is narrowed and offset. The surface has a dark-green to dark-brown patina.
