A Medeival copper alloy trade weight. The weight is circular in plan and flat in cross section. It has an incised circle around the edge creating a border. A crown has been stamped off center. The reverse has not been seen by FLO.
The weight is 46mm diameter and 4.5mm thick can weighs roughly 50 grams.
The earliest copper alloy trade weight apparently date from the late 14th and 15th century. From the reign of Henry VII, c. 1495 they start being stamped with the kings initial. This weights therefore probably dates to c.1375-1495.
