Copper alloy thimble. The outside of the thimble is decorated with irregularly hand drilled circular indentations that spiral up towards the top of the domed cap with a double linear band rounds around the base of the thimble. This artefact dates to 1350-1500. Similar examples are illustrated in E. F. Holmes' 'Sewing Thimbles', Finds Research Group 700-1700 Datasheet 9.
