Sherd; Body sherd of probable Medieval date. Body/neck sherd, broken at the upper handle join. Fabric is white to cream-white throughout, with abundant black grit inclusions well sorted throughout the fabric and several small voids. The exterior is glazed with a thick dark green glaze, the interior with yellow. The sherd has been weathered by water and is abraded on all surfaces.

A direct comparison for a thick, yellow interior glaze of this type could be not found. The abrasion to the glaze is unusual, but the decoration, colouring and fabric descriptions are consistent with the Medieval fabric of York Glazed Ware. The yellow glaze is, perhaps, more consistent with a Post-Medieval fabric. A more general date has been applied to this object to account for the discrepancy caused by weathering and difficulty in a secure fabric identification.
