A late Medieval silver long cross penny, likely of Henry VI and possibly dating to the period c.1427-1430 AD. Mint of York.
The coin is extremely worn, making a full identification difficult; however, the style of lettering and the presence of a saltire on the right of the bust mean that it is comparable to Type IIIbii. There is a quatrefoil at the centre of the cross on the reverse, indicating the mint is York and the decipherable lettering confirms this, reading EBORACI. The bust has pronounced hollowed neck and chest; of the former this could possibly be an annulet on the neck. The coin is missing approximately half of the legend due to damage.
