A cast copper alloy, single loop pentagon shaped buckle frame, dating from about AD 1250 - 1350. The frame is bevelled on the upper surface and flat beneath. It has an extended, triangular outer edge with a small, moulded knop on either side of the apex and a narrowed and offset strap bar with a moulded round knop at each end. The sides are sharply angled. The buckle has a deep green patina with visible file marks. It is 25.3mm long, 42.6mm wide and 2.7mm thick. It weighs 4.55gm.
