An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative bow brooch. Only the foot and catchplate surivive, the remainder now missing due to old breaks. The bow is D-shaped in section with flat back and faceted front face, and double transverse grooves at its terminal end. On the back face of the foot is an integrally cast catchplate. This is triangular in form with folded outer edge, a deeply incised pin groove, and has openwork decoration comprising two circular perforations.
