Possibly a cast copper alloy strap end dating from the medieval period, that is c. AD1200-1500. It appears to be a strap end with a pointed terminal but no moulded or incised decoration. The image does not show any rivet holes or other means of attachment to a leather belt or strap.
NB: The find was not seen by the FLO. The image and findspot information was kindly supplied by the rally organiser.
