A complete copper alloy ram-rod of modern date (AD 1800-1900). The object is complete with no indication of breaks and is composed of a single, solid piece of metal which has possibly been machine worked to achieve its shape. The upper end is bell shaped and tapers towards the integral shaft, this is circular in section and has a single raised, circumferentially running aspect located approximately half way along the shaft. The terminating end of the object and shaft is slightly broadened due to the percussive nature of the use of the object.
Given the length of the object it is likely to have come from a pistol or a short barrelled gun.
The metal is a dark brown in colour with some green pitted patina and light grey smooth patina along the shaft.
