A copper-alloy double-looped trapezoidal buckle dating from the post-medieval period. The buckle is symmetrical with two trapezoidal sides converging inwards towards the centre. The central axis bar has a protruding knop at both ends. The frame is sharply bevelled on the top side with downward-sloping outer faces. The underside if flat and plain. The pin is missing. These buckles date from c.1570-1750. A similar example can be found illustrated in Whitehead (2003, 81; no. 505).
This object measures 24.9mm by 26.2mm by 3.3mm and weighs 5.26g. It is curved in profile, though whether this is through use or post-depositional damage is not certain.
