A copper-alloy 'Dolphin' jetton, struck in south-eastern France and dating from the 14th century (Mitchiner 1988: 182 - 184).

According to Mitchiner (ibid: 182), 'The dolphin ('dauphin') was traditional badge of the Counts of Alban, Dauphins of Viennois'. The author's suggested date range for such jettons is c. 1373 - c. 1415.
