An incomplete post-Medieval two-piece hooked wire dress fastener (1500-1700).
The hook is missing.
The frame is made of thick wire and is sub-triangular in plan, flat at the front and rear with rounded corners. It is bent into a loop and each end spirals back to butt against the side of the frame. The rear face has a stamped maker's mark:

The object is mid-brown overall.
Length: 25.1mm; width: 20.7mm; thickness: 1.5mm. Weight: 1.62g.
A similar fastener from Norfolk has been published (Read 2008: 142, ref: 561).
