A rim sherd from a Savernake-type grey ware vessel dating to the period c100-300 AD. The sherd is part of a wheel-thrown vessel. The fabric is hard and coarse. The core is off white. The outer surface is a pale pinkish brown and fairly smooth on both sides. There are numerous grog and mica inclusions. The sherd is probably from a jar (Cf 1 Savernake type grey wares - Wessex Archaeology, 2011, Pottery Recognition: Romano-British 25 January 2011, Dorset County Council). The sherd weighs 76.05g and measures 80.41mm in width, 37.91mm in height and 19.97mm in depth.
