A sherd from an Oxfordshire red/brown slipped ware vessel dating to the period c240-400 AD. The sherd is part of a wheel-thrown vessel. The fabric is hard with a smooth outer surface and a lumpy inner surface. The core is grey. The outer surface is coloured with a reddish brown slip. There is are small reddish brown inclusions. The sherd is probably from a jar or beaker (Cf C23/1 amd C20.1 Oxfordshire finewares - Wessex Archaeology, 2011, Pottery recognition Romano-British 25 January 2011, Dorset County Council). The sherd weighs 18.92g and measures 47.35mm in width, 38.90mm in height and 7.19mm in depth.
