Gaulish Iron Age cast copper-alloy potin. Mid-first century BC. ABC (Cottam et al 2010) 82; DT (Delestree & Tache) 154-55; Scheers type 191. Traditionally attributed to the Remi of northern Gaul.

5/1/2015 - Though there have been other Iron Age coins found in the same area, the proximity of this coin to others is not sufficient to indicate that it is probably part of a dispersed hoard. Future discoveries may alter that view, but this coin cannot be deemed Treasure in retrospect.
