TREASURE CASE : 2015 T7.
A complete silver finger ring of medieval date. The ring is comprised of a thin D-sectioned hoop with an integral bezel formed from a large rectangular collet oriented with the longest edge transverse to the band. The collet holds clear glass or crystal cabochon stone.
The hoop has become distorted, presumably as a result of its deposition and is decorated on the upper surface with parallel circumferential zigzag lines to either side of the central spine created by the D-section. These lines result in the creation of lozenge cells, each of which holds six crude indented dots, flanked by triangular cells, with three indented dots. The interior surface of the hoop is undecorated.
