An early post-medieval (c.1500-1700) copper alloy double oval buckle frame, measuring 22.57x17.29mm and weighing 2.31g. The internal measurements of the loops are c.6.7x11.7mm.
The loops have angled outside edges with a transverse notch for the pin at the centre. The narrowed central bar (triangular in cross-section) bar extends beyond the frame with a moulded rib at either end. The sheet copper alloy pin is of a different copper alloy to that of the frame, and is now a purple-brown in colour in contrast to the green-brown of the frame. It is cut to a point at its tip.
