A damaged set of copper-alloy tweezers, probably dating from the Medieval period.
The two arms were originally formed from one piece of wire, but a break has occurred at the apex loop. The wire arms have been twisted to give a ropework effect. At the bottom ends this wire is flattened and flares into the terminals, both of which have downward curving, straight, blades. One of the terminals is decorated by a single vertical groove, located at the centre of the upper surface. The heavily corroded object retains traces of gilding.
