Incomplete and abraded Late Saxon copper alloy tongue-shaped openwork strap end of Thomas 2004, Class E, Type 1. The outside edge and one part of the split end are missing. The attachment edge of the other part is also missing, with the break truncating two rivet holes. The sides are moulded into convex and concave curves (cf. ibid. fig. 4, no. 23). Eight round apertures and a part of two others are extant. Length and width 39 and 23mm. 10th century.
