Incomplete and distorted front part of a medieval gilt sheet copper alloy trapezoidal buckle plate broken at the fold, with a pin slot, frame recesses, four rivet holes, three with cylindrical headed rivets and, following both sides and both edges, lines of finely executed interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles. Length 34.5mm. Width at the fold 15mm, at the inside edge c.11mm. 13th - 14th century.
