Lilly Chitty Collection
A Neolithic secondary flake (4,000 to 2,500 BC), grey in colour with some lighter and darker inclusions.
This piece is sub-triangular in plan and sub-rectilinear in section. The fifth of 10 pieces, with the number "5" written in biro on the ventral face. It comprises 3 main facets on the dorsal face, and displays patches of cortex on the distal-most end of the opposing edge. The ventral face comprises a single facet, with a pronounced bulb of percussion at the proximal end, and near the distal end, a very pronounced ring.
This piece weighs 3.2 grams, measuring 31.6mm in length, 22.4mm in width and 4.7mm in thickness.
