An incomplete cast copper alloy spiral finger ring of late Iron Age to early Roman date, about 200 BC to AD 200. The ring is made of copper alloy wire which is D-shaped in cross-section and has a width of 4.54mm. It is coiled in a single turn with both terminals overlapping. The internal terminal tapers to a rounded end while the outer terminal is incomplete due a probable ancient break. The internal diameter of the object is 15.55mm and the external diameter 20.74mm. The object has a smooth olive green patina.
A spiral finger ring can be found in Crummy (1996: 48, fig. 50, no. 1759) dated to the 1st-2nd centuries AD, and examples on this database recorded as Iron Age through to the later Roman period (SOMDOR-89E565, SWYOR-5966D0, SUSS-DD0786, NLM-7AB307).
