A complete copper-alloy mount of Post-Medieval date.
It is a flattened D-shape in section with a flat back and rounded front face. The main body is sub-rectangular and tapers to a pair of U-shaped notches which develop into a crescent shaped terminal. On the back face is a large integral spike. This is D-shaped in section, tapers to a point and bent forwards. There are traces of gilding on the front face. The back face is undecorated.
This mount measures 17.15mm in length, 17.04mm in width, 1.76mm in thickness, 17.42mm in height (including spike), 2.91g in weight.
