A post-medieval copper-alloy open topped thimble or tailor's sewing ring. The thimble appears to have been hand punched with five rows of circular pits or indentations which are irregularly spaced in some parts. There is no visible seam and the base measures 21.50mm in diameter tapering to 19.08mm at the top. Height is 14.09mm and the weight 8.32g. The thimble is in good condition and has a green patina. Probably 17th century.
