An incomplete cast copper-alloy four-way strap junction of probable Post-Medieval date. The piece is formed of four circular loops arranged so the edges touch leaving a central open square. While the upper surface is moulded the lower surface is flat giving the loops a D-shaped section. The piece has a black/brown colour. All of the loops are offset to each other and the edges are all uneven suggesting wear at some points and that the piece extended at others. This, the form and finish, suggest a date for this piece perhaps in the 17th or 18th centuries although due to its simplicity it is hard to be precise. Length 36.7mm. Width 36.00. Thickness 3.6mm. Weight 14.47
