Copper alloy strap fitting. Cast strap-slide in the form of a dumbbell toggle with a hollow back to its middle part and a rounded section loop. Two slightly unequal sub-spherical ends, each with a collar, joined - the loop and toggle are cast in one piece. The dumbbell form of toggle is of later Iron Age origin though its incorporation here into a strap fitting suggests a Roman date. Suggested date: Early Roman, 75-200.
