An incomplete copper alloy buckle of Medieval date (AD 1250-1400). The buckle has a single loop oval frame with a narrowed and offset strap bar. Two prominent, collared knops flank three grooves on the outer edge of the loop. The pin is missing.
The metal is mid-brown-black in colour. The buckle is 17.16mm long, 17.03mm wide, 1.65mm thick and weighs 3.73g.
Similar examples are illustrated in Whitehead, p.23 no.100 and are dated to circa AD 1250-1400.
