Copper alloy and iron brooch. Colchester brooch, Mackreth type C2b. A six coil spring with chord on an iron axis bar and a pin now bent forward is retained by a forward facing hook of length c.8mm against short flat plain wings. A plain oval section bow tapers towards an apparently plain foot with the stub of a pierced catch plate, probably with a square hole or holes. Suggested date: Late Iron Age, AD 20-60.
