Fragment of post-medieval silver thimble, perhaps half surviving. Separately soldered top missing, thickened rib around lower edge with a border above which is plain except for at least two engraved letters ]...[ P, broken across the first making it indecipherable. The sides are decorated with a zigzag reserved on a field of punched dots forming a waffle pattern, with a plain border above. The sheet is splitting and broken along the engraved lines defining the zigzag. Surviving height 23mm. Diameter (if half survives undistorted) circa 18mm. Weight 3.0g. Circa 17th century.
