An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy pin with decorated head. Only the head and part of the shaft survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
The head is a flattened bi-conical in shape with a flattened hexagonal top. It is decorated with nine ring and dot motifs, one on the top, four around the upper half and four below. The shaft is cylindrical in form before terminating in old breaks.
This pin measures 25.19mm in length, 7.28mm in diameter at the head, 1.58mm in diameter at the shaft, 1.55g in weight.
There are similar examples recorded on the PAS database (SF-2706DA), (SF-50A8A8), (SF-DFEAD3).
