A complete flint side scraper of late Mesolithic to Neolithic date (6500-2100 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular in profile and plano-convex in section. The dorsal surface is convex with two predominant negative scars corresponding arrises. The proximal end has been abruptly blunted. All other edges contain fine semi-abrupt retouch. There is a recessed notched aspect in the proximal left hand edge. The ventral surface is predominantly flat with shallow ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake
The flint is light grey in colour with cream inclusions throughout.
